Venice, 8th September 2017 – The amazing and suggestive location of the Arsenale, historical heart of the Venetian naval industry, was the scenario of the forth and last day of the “ICF Dragon Boat Club Crew World Championships”.

22 titles assigned on the long chase distance of the 2,000 mt., with the crews coming from Ukraine and Germany who have been protagonists, but also the Italian teams (first of all Università di Venezia) competed honorably winning gold medals and podiums.

In detail, starting from the the dragon boats (20 seater), in the Senior category double medal for the Ukrainian Otaman, at the first place among the men with a time of 7’01”17 (third place for The Core Canottaggio Sabaudia) and in the mixed category with a time of 7’20”10 (forth place for The Core Canottaggio Sabaudia and tenth place for Etruria Dragon), while in the female category victory of SV Union Boeckingen-Neckardrachen (Germany; 8’04”63) with a bronze medal for Università di Venezia. In the Master category always Ukraine in the 50+ Men with the success of the Dinamo with 7’29”29 (third place for Canottieri Comunali Firenze) and Germany again in the Mixed with Team Preussen-Potsdam (7’57”77) before Canottieri Comunali Firenze; in the Master 40+ Men gold medal for the Russian Shtorm (7’08”18), in the Mixed other victory for the German SV Union Boeckingen-Neckardrachen (7’23”25). Satisfaction in the Junior Men for the Moldovan Vulturi “A” (7’45”52) and, finally, the Pink Ladies’ crew Trifoglio rosa/Pink Butterfly (10’26”30) won on the Kayak Canoa Cordenons.

DSC_8250In the afternoon it was the time for the mini dragons (10 seater): starting from the Senior an other double gold medal for Otaman (Ukraine; 7’56”99 in the Mixed and 7’30”59 in the Men category) and first place for the German SV Union Boeckingen-Neckardrachen (8’52”75) in the Senior Women. In the Master 50+ Mixed first place for the Hungarian Dragon Aqua Se (8’40”87), for Shtorm (Russia; 7’42”91) in the male category and for the Venetian Università di Venezia (9’00”74) in the female one. In the Master 40+ Mixed victory of the Ukrainian team Mala Flotylya (8’03”93), for SV Union Boeckingen-Neckardrachen (8’56”86) before the crew Università di Venezia (8’57”23) in the female category and, as usual, for the Ukrainian Otaman (7’49”12) among the men. Double victory of Vulturi “A” in the Junior Mixed (8’07”08) and in the Junior Men (8’02”01), in the Social 60+ Men first place for the Canottieri Comunali Firenze (9’02”09). Finally, among the Pink Ladies gold medal for Pink Butterfly (10’15”02).
